MaMa Jean’s is proud to accept EBT (Electronic Benefits Transfer), otherwise known as SNAP. This program, previously known as Food Stamps, has been put in place to offer supplemental dollars to those trying to make the best possible choices for themselves and their families. It is our hope to offer wholesome, nutritious food to every member of our community.
How can you use EBT/SNAP at MaMa Jeans?
All grocery items are covered by EBT. This includes packaged foods, perishables, fresh cheese, local meat, organic produce, and bulk foods. Beer and wine products are not covered.
All items from our deli case, packaged grab-and-go items, baked goods and salad bar items are covered. Items served hot or made to order at the deli are not covered by EBT. That means all coffee beverages, juices, smoothies, and hot items like breakfast, soups and paninis are not covered.
Most supplements are not covered by EBT, but some items like proteins, greens, and oils can be used in the kitchen, and therefore may be covered. How can you tell if a supplement is covered? Check the back of the label where nutritional information is listed. If the label reads “Nutrition Facts,” then it is covered by EBT. If instead, the label reads “Supplement Facts,” that item is not covered by EBT.
All personal care, household and pet products are not covered by EBT.
To stretch your EBT dollars even further, be sure to shop in bulk and choose MaMa’s Super Saver items. These items are marked with a colorful tag throughout the store and are kept at the lowest possible everyday price.
